Practice Areas: Ms. Martinez joined MSA with an extensive background in representing large and small financial institutions, and other creditors, before state and federal courts.  The Majority of her practice concentrates on creditor’s rights, real estate litigation, including title disputes and title claims, and real estate transactions.  Ms. Martinez routinely handles Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases, adversary proceedings, judicial and non judicial foreclosures, partitions, receiverships, quiet title actions, mechanic’s lien litigation, title insurance litigation, lender-liability defense, due diligence, and contracts.  She also has significant experience in negotiating settlements involving real estate.  She has further developed a particular emphasis and expertise in the area of title curative matters, having over fourteen years of title experience.  Ms. Martinez has also been requested to write multiple amicus briefs on behalf of the Colorado Creditor’s Bar Association.

-Requested to draft Amicus Brief on behalf of the Colorado Creditor Bar Association, Portercare Adventist Health Systems v. Lego, 286 P. 3d 525 (Colo. 2012) (reversed on appeal) (holding six-year limitations period for actions to recover liquidated debt applied to hospital’s debt collection action).
