A significant settlement encourages safer skiing. A 19 year old Aspen skier looked before he leapt launching a 360 degree turn before making sure the area below was clear. The skier, who was moving at least 35 miles per hour, ran into medical professional, who suffered a closed head injury, a severely injured shoulder, and a destabilized cervical neck fracture. This gentleman’s medical skills, and livelihood, and quality of life, were taken from him. Jim Gigax went all out for this gentleman and hired the best expert witnesses, including consulting engineers who produced this animation. The case was settled four months before trial for $3,255,000.
